Bach

                     (Poème pour la paix)

           Si le monde                 ajoutait

     une         corde (de paix)

     à son violon            (de vie)

     la Chaconne de Bach

     plus    jamais    ne résonnerait

     aussi                       cruellement

     inhumainement

     qu'à Auschwitz

           Si les fils       d'Israël

     ajoutaient                une corde

     de paix       à leurs violons de guerre

     plus jamais             la vie             ne serait

     aussi cruelle

     inhumaine

     pour les Palestiniennes

     Bach          serait enfin                       immortel

  If     the world     would

  add                  a string (of peace)

  to its violon (of life)

  Bach's Chaconne

  would    never    echo  again

  the cruel      inhuman

  sound it had

  in Auschwitz

  If       the sons        of Israel

  would    add       a string of peace

  to their   violon                          of war

  life would never

  be the cruel       inhuman

  fact it is for

  Palestinian    women

  Bach     at last         would               be immortal
